FOOD SECURITY FOR EVERYONE!
Our Community Food Action project is designed to help immigrants and their families meet their basic food and nutritional needs. During the first months after their arrival, newcomers face important challenges such as adapting to and integrating into their new society (job market, schools, etc.).
The project’s mission since 2011 has been to facilitate regular access to sufficient, healthy, quality and affordable foods, through several activities.
- Collective kitchen workshops
- Fruit and vegetable buying group (temporarily suspended until August 2018)
- Urban agriculture: community garden and patio gardens (vegetables and herbs)
- Information sessions: nutrition and home economics
