French is the official and most common language in Quebec. It’s the language used by public institutions, workplaces, education, communications, commerce, and business. French is also a shared symbol of belonging and participation in Quebec society.

This is the only access point for French language instruction that serves:
- immigrants and Canadian citizens who are 16 years or older as of July 1 and living in Quebec;
- employees working for companies that wish to use these services;
- individuals who want to settle in Quebec.
The French courses being offered by the Quebec government are free. Incentive financial assistance is also available to eligible individuals, subject to certain conditions.
These French courses are offered:
- full-time or part-time;
- in-person or remotely;
- in every region of Quebec.
This program also offers courses that are:
- offered fully online or remotely offline;
- specialized according to different industries;
- offered onsite at work.
