A critical look at the role of intervention in an intercultural context
This event will be presented in French.
This lecture will take a critical look at the role of intervention in an intercultural context, specifically when there are social tensions at play. Backed by a clinical approach to social sciences, it will specifically explore the process of self-actualization among descendants of racialized migrants.
This lecture is hosted by Sophie Hamisultane, Assistant Professor, School of Social Work at l’Université de Montréal.
As a clinical sociologist, she examines the psychosocial complexities of intercultural relationships, taking into account socio-historical processes (postcolonialism) and intergenerational transmission (migratory heritage), especially regarding self-actualization among descendants of racialized migrants. She also interrogates the clinical approach in an intercultural context.
