The Quebec Miracle: A traveller’s story from here and abroad
This event will be presented in French.
The author will present the outline of his book Le Miracle Québécois : Récit d’un voyageur d’ici et d’ailleurs recently published by Editions du Boréal. He offers a different perspective on the history of Quebec and the evolution of the people of Quebec. Contrary to what we read too often, it is the story of eminently resilient and skillful people, who throughout the ups and downs of their history, have always (or almost) known how to make the right choices as a society. It is the story of the erasure of the social chasm between two types of people, and the reversal of a historical relationship of domination. Finally, it is the story of a people who literally went through a metamorphosis, who transformed their institutions, changed their values and changed the very definition of their nation.
