Attendant – Rental & equipment

Our company specializes in the rental and sale of equipment and offers a wide selection of equipment parts and services. Its clientele is varied, including several commercial and residential construction companies as well as industrial companies, meeting centers, municipalities and owners.

Our company has thousands of different pieces of equipment, ranging from long reach equipment to heavy equipment, lawn and garden equipment and hand tools. Quality of service is the hallmark of the company.

WORKPLACE: Montreal

MAIN DUTIES / DESCRIPTION OF TASKS

We are looking for committed and motivated employees to fill the position of equipment rental and return clerk. The main tasks associated with the function are as follows:

  • Assist customers and delivery personnel with loading and unloading vehicles.
  • Help maintain inventory.
  • Tasks related to shipping and receiving functions, light to heavy
  • Janitorial responsibilities, both inside and outside the premises, are also involved.

The work is usually very physical and demanding, both because of the strength requirements and the endurance required.

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager / Supervisor, the candidates will have to perform the following tasks:

Warehouse – Construction / General Tools / Customer Service:

  • Save all decals, safety warnings, and company identification stickers.
  • Prepare equipment, if necessary, before loading.
  • Secure loaded equipment according to company procedure and inspect in transit if necessary.
  • Load and unload equipment according to company procedure and notify supervisor of improperly loaded or damaged equipment.
  • Equipment must be ready by loading date — check with supervisor to ensure all deliveries are ready.
  • Follow “Ready to Rent” cleaning procedures, which may include the use of pressure washers, chemicals, compressed air and, if necessary, kitchen and laundry cleaning equipment.
  • After cleaning, carefully check the operation of the equipment and look for fasteners, parts, etc. missing.
  • If items are malfunctioning or have missing parts, be sure to complete service tags correctly and notify supervisor.
  • Keep warehouse and dock areas neat and tidy – keep all shelves free of dust, keep floors swept, etc.

Inventory service area:

  • Keep all rental equipment neatly displayed, according to the diagram provided.
  • Greet and assist customers when loading and unloading rental equipment. Ensure the customer understands the proper use and safety features of the rented equipment. When loading, securely attach the equipment to the customer’s vehicle.

Communicate with supervisor

  • Report security violations to supervisor.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations in written or verbal form.
  • Perform other tasks as requested.
  • Comply with company health and safety guidelines.
  • Team working

QUALIFICATION AND REQUIRED PROFILE

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred, not required)
  • Master the imperial system and the metric system
  • Able to use mathematics to solve problems
  • Customer service skills, enjoy working with the public (essential)
  • Able to express themselves well both orally, in writing and on the computer
  • Able to lift loads of 50 lbs repeatedly
  • Professional personal appearance required
  • Experience: between 2 and 5 years
  • Be team-oriented
  • Language: Intermediate English (spoken and written)
  • Be punctual and diligent

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Salary: $15.00 to $20.00 per hour
  • Number of hours per week: 40 hours (full-time, permanent)
  • Schedule from Monday to Friday, 6:00a.m. to 5:00p.m., Saturday from 6:00a.m. to 3:00p.m.
