PROMIS, Partner With the CSMO
Did you know that PROMIS has teamed up with CSMO Textile to set up a training and employment project for industrial sewing machine operators? The project consists of free and remunerated training for 11 people with guaranteed jobs upon successful completion.
Fostering Cultural Diversity in the Textile Industry
Since it first opened its doors, PROMIS’ mission has been to promote the professional reintegration of immigrants and refugees in Quebec. This project is perfectly aligned with our objective, and PROMIS and La Maisonnée have done a wonderful job with preselecting candidates.
With this year’s CSMO Textile program, women from 8 different countries (Algeria, Cameroon, Iran, Portugal, Dominican Republic, Guinea, Syria, and Tunisia) will be trained and then given a job in the textile industry!
Meet the Industry’s Labour Needs
The objective of this program is not only to promote access to employment for immigrants, but also to meet the labour needs of several companies in Quebec’s textile industry. This training course benefits both future employees and participating companies – that’s what we call a win-win!
