A year worth celebrating!

The PROMIS team is thrilled with the celebration that took place in honour of its 30th anniversary! Alongside the Ministry of Immigration, Diversity and Inclusion (MIDI), the Bureau d’intégration des nouveaux arrivants à Montréal (BINAM), Emploi-Québec, and its many community partners, PROMIS had the great privilege of acknowledging its contributions to the community.

A collective achievement!

Over the last 30 years, PROMIS has supported thousands of immigrants and refugees with the help of our amazing community.

“In the nonprofit sector, 30 years is an achievement in itself!” said Delfino Campanile, CEO of PROMIS. “The 30th anniversary was the ideal pretext to highlight the progression and expansion of our organization with those who have supported our mission.”

PROMIS has evolved from a small organization founded by a missionary sister to a pan-Quebec organization that is a leader in the field of immigration. This growth would not have been possible without a strong community and network of partners behind us.

It was equally important for PROMIS to gather everyone who has worked with our newcomers under one roof to show them the incredible scope of their impact. “It’s to show that our mission goes beyond the limits of each of our organizations. It’s truly a society project,” said Mr. Campanile.

A tribute to our team

PROMIS is powered by a fantastic team that works hard to support more than 5,000 immigrants and refugees every year. Our 30th anniversary was the perfect occasion to highlight their exemplary work.

After two heartwarming speeches – one by Lucien Fortin, Vice-Chairman of the Board, and Delfino Campanile, PROMIS’ General Manager, we paid tribute to PROMIS’ employees with this video featuring them!

Celebrating the Maria-Goretti Residence

The Maria-Goretti Residence also enjoyed a moment in the spotlight. It was celebrating its own special anniversary: 65 years in operation. Since 1953, the Maria-Goretti Residence has provided accessible temporary housing for women.

Its history has been marked by continuous growth, including many new services for our customers. The residence now has 200 rooms and a community of women that extends beyond borders. For many of our clients, housing is a major issue when they first arrive in Quebec, and we are proud to offer a service that is tailored to their needs and gives them peace of mind.

The evening’s festivities included a live band, a dance floor, and a decadent buffet. The PROMIS team wants to thank the 250 people who helped make this event a success, and we look forward to celebrating the next 30 years with you!
